Meet the Team

Hi! I'm Alicia, an Occupational Therapist (OT) located on the southern end of the Gold Coast, QLD. Prior to becoming an OT, I worked as a support worker with children, adolescents and adults in the home and community setting. Since becoming an OT almost 6 years ago, I have worked alongside many incredible clients and families to work towards their goals and live fulfilling lives.

I believe in understanding and incorporating client strengths and interests into the therapy space to create a safe, motivating, and engaging environment. I am passionate about supporting clients to advocate for themselves and understand their emotional regulation needs, sensory preferences, social and executive functioning, self-care skills and body movement. I prioritise working collaboratively with the client, their family and broader support network to create cohesion and empower others within the client's team

I have a specific interest and experience working alongside children and adolescents in the school setting. Alongside my role in Sprightly Therapy, I work within the QLD Department of Education and previously worked within an independent school for many years. I believe that children and teens deserve to feel safe, supported and understood in the school environment, and I enjoy working with schools to create an environment where all children can participate, learn and reach their potential.

I'm Trent, the guy behind the scenes making the business run smoothly. I will be at the end of any intake requests before helping you to arrange appointments, as well as supporting our therapy team by organising their calendars (and all things tech, of course). I am passionate about building authentic connections and supporting people to achieve their goals. I am friendly and never too busy to stop for a chat.

I have a strong interest in home automation/smart home technology and how this can support people to access their home and daily tasks more independently. I have trialled and implemented a range of assistive technology devices, such as voice-activated lighting, automated kitchen appliances and safety systems in the home environment of young adults. This has allowed clients to experience a greater sense of independence and safety within their home. I hope to continue to explore the benefits that home modifications and assistive technology can provide to our clients and their families.
